Worst service ever!! System goes off conveniently for lunch time. 5 hours wasted and still have not applied. I have visited here twice now with no luck.

Who knows the correct number to phone?? Useless DHA website gives a bad gateway when accessing the contact us portion. Should be renamed "Don't contact us" we couldn't be bothered to take your call in any case. Nothing works so it's a gamble to get any access to them... I need to pick up a passport but don't live in Bethlehem so need to drive there...

So today I finally got to do my passport application after being forced to go home 3 times in the last 2 weeks due to systems offline. I’m not a resident of Bethlehem so I had to wake up early to get to the Department of Home Affairs and by the time I got there the lines where excessively long and felt impossible to get into the Home Affairs office. It took me 3 days, driving from my home town to Bethlehem and back just to get my passport done. Once you get assistance thankfully you get it done fast. The paperless system is a nice upgrade but only if they have it up and running so because of that the old system should be brought back. I’m not looking forward to go to collect my passport because I will have to wait in a long line once again. :(

Kak service... Nobody gives the correct information and they take their time, they answer their personal phone calls while helping people no real professionalism, rather drive elsewhere far away than go there

I went to get my pasport today at 3:23 had 3 children with me. The guy at the door told me that they are closed and will not open i have to come back tomorrow, i told him it will be quick its only a picup, he refused, had a really bad attitude and was plain rude. With me waited another lady, as i got into my car he opened the doors for her to went in and she proceded to sit in the rows...who gives him the right to decide one above the other, he is doing dishonest work.. In my opinion the guy at the door gives bethlehem home affairs a bad reputation, if i could give them less stars i would.

Would have rated them 0 stars if possible. Terrible service, systems that don’t work, horrible communication by the staff, a mysterious ticket allocation service. Me, my wife and 3 kids have been there several times for passport applications, just to be sent home after waiting 5-6 hours in line. The last time we got there at 6 in the morning, roughly 15 people in front of us. By 9:00 signed in. After constant reshuffling of the line, got our tickets at about 10:30, guess what, nr 140 in the line. We were then told at 11:30 that they cant help us that day. So the guy said “Just come back again another day”. So after complaining about it being our third attempt already he tells me to come earlier. Earlier than 6 o’clock???? Going to Harrismith to try their Department of Home Affairs, apparently they are much better. How am I supposed to get my family out of this god forsaken country if this government can’t even issue passports?
