One of the best health care institution
I would not recommend this hospital to the elderly and critically ill. This hospital was one the best 10 years ago, even earlier when it was called Hydroned. I recently took my mother there, she came back dehydrated, malnutrition with ulcers, pressure sore after 6 days in hospital. There were hardly no nurses in the wards, other patients in the ward would tell me how my mother was treated every time I went for a visit. Very heart breaking.
My child was born on the 12th of March at 30weeks premature. He has a lung condition that needs the Synagis injection. The Synagis has been approved on the 19th March on file at the hospital with its confirmation letter and authorization number from the Medical Aid. It is been approved for 3 months only. Today the 2nd of April he stil has not received any injection. And how conveniently it is a public holiday he wil only get is injection by Tuesday 6 April. The only realise this 1st of April. He could have been released today. He has been here 3 weeks and is healthy just need the injection. We are from Kathu Northern Cape. It costs us to stay in Bloemfontein R500 per night we have to eat as well. I must work and provide for my family now my leave is depleted completely with thought I would have had enough. I can not enjoy have my first child in my own house. It cost us R2000 to travel a return trip from Kathu to Bloemfontein each time. I do not have a lot money I do not know how am I going to pay for my accommodation and how am I going to get back home. Are the Hospital going to help me in this regard? I am suffering under your mistakes and or decisions. From the first day we came in red lights was flashing. Everytime we have this excitement that he will released today as we go with expectations of the doctors and staff. I need to know when I must go and work what must I do I am losing alot. I don't even feel like a father. Nothing is explained. I must just pay but how wil this end up for us. The medical aid and I have unnecessary large expenses that could and can be avoided. I went to visit a gynecologist on the 10th of November, there were tests performed for which I was told to expect results on the same week, latest being the Saturday the 14th of November 2020, To this day I am still waiting, it's been a month now. Called the practice, sent the Dr a message which was read with no response whatsoever.
Ok my journey should gave been less cost effective and short on Sunday I went to emergency where all the personell is the best then I told the dr treating me I have this pain in my leg from my back to my knee ok he did blood tests and gave me a pain injection after awhile he told me there is nothing more he can give me well I then told him in that case I need strong pain meds the pain is killing me I cant walk. So he did and send me home. SO ONE STAR FOR THAT DOCTOR THEN I WAS ADMITTED THE 26TH AGAIN THE PERSONELL IS FABULOUS THE PORTERS THE NURSES THE CLEANING PPL THE COOK. I WENT THROUGH ADMISSION TO WARD T SLEPT WELL AND DR DE BRUIN HELPED ME I WENT TO MRI WHERE ROCHELLE GOD BLESS HER IWAS SO AFRAID HELPED ME SO THANKS YOU ARE A GEM TO MEDI CLINIC TURNS OUT I HAVE A CYSTS ON MY L5. IM SORRY BUT THE FIRST DOCTOR NEED SOME MORE TRAINING. THANK TO ALL AT MRI WARD T COOKS PORTERS CLEANERS AND NURSRS RUNNING TO ASSIST PATIENTS 24/7.
