Why they hold this festival in the middle of the icy cold winter in the Free State, only the organisers will know . Believe me, it is cold, very cold. Despite this, what a wonderful "cultural awakening" opportunity for the people of central South Africa with an absolutely amazing programme covering ALL art genres!!! And the food, eats and treats and art markets AMAZING!!!!

Very good variety of art, films, music, theatre, book discussions and mire available on the campus of Free State university. Well planned and managed arts festival. I experienced a problem when attending a discussion between two writers and flea market music were blasting, venue manager was extremely incompetent in handling the situation.
