My care was fantastic. The nursing staff were friendly and helpful and the daily schedule meant that there was always something to focus on. I still use the skills I learnt here. Unfortunately my psychiatrist didn't care about me except as a number and I can never get through to him even in severe emergencies.

PLEASE BE WARNED: Akeso Milnerton is one of the worst psychiatric hospitals I have ever engaged with. They are disorganised, have a severe communication issue and punctuality doesn’t seem to be part of their vocabulary. It was concerning (to say the least) when the nurses gave the wrong medications to some of the patients resulting in troubling consequences. I, on the other hand, was denied my medication. My psychiatrist was always late as most psychiatrists there do not solely dedicate their time to the clinic. My psychologists, without notice, failed to attend our appointments. The staff were unhelpful and uninformed which made the experience all the more distressing. I advise anyone seeking quality care to look elsewhere.

Pathetic, would never recommend Akeso to anyone trying to get better, they only care about money, very unorganized and unprofessional, lack of communication, does not respond to emails, only when looking for money that was already paid to them. They encouraged bad habits such as smoking to a non-smoker to "ease anxiety", my brother came out thinking it was more of a holiday and didn't gain anything from this place instead he now has a smoking habit he never had as he was told to do it because it will ease his anxiety. All of the people he had met had relapsed within a week of being in this centre. DO NOT RECOMMEND, SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE

The psychiatrists were almost always late. The nursing staff lacked communication skills which led to missed appointments and medication mixups. In general, the support and care were poor.

Absolutely loved my experience, the nurses and staff was very professional and built a strong trust bond with the kids. Would definitely recommend for adolescents with mental disorders.

Excellent and high standards of care and professionalism. General / dual diagnosis / adolescent inpatient units. Contracted into all major Medical Schemes. There also also doctors rooms on site for those requiring outpatient care. Group therapy provided on Tuesday evenings, too. Really, a one stop shop for your mental well-being.

Programming 101 for beginners

I would personally like to thank Dr Mike West for his absolute dedication and care to shows to his patients. I was in an incredibly bad way and difficult to handle on the day that I was admitted. Prior to my admission Dr West would respond to any email queries that I would send to him, he would send me useful ebooks and resources regarding my conditions and also his opinions regarding my options on holistic treatment. In hospital he ensured that I had the necessary blood work done, was being assisted by a psychologist and even going to the extent of helping me handle matters with my employer. I have never met such a knowledgeable, straightforward, caring doctor who goes above and beyond for his patients. Doctor West I really hope that you get the recognition you deserve for all that you do. Thank you falls incredibly short of my immense gratitude for all your hard work and assistance. This facility is truly in a league of it's own.

I was admitted to that hospital and the psychiatrist's and psychologists were very helpful in treating my condition. The hospital manager is very friendly and approachable and the staff very keen to help where they can. I'll definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs help as they are very professional.
