They call me „Uncle Eric „ because I’m a special guy: A German, 81 year’s old with not so much power, but with an irrepressible desire to fly. With never ending patience and care Barry is bringing me into the air, and I enjoy every day with him and Grant, my beloved „Sherpa“,who brings me with my heavy harness up to the mountains. And I give thanks to the others in the group for their warm hearted support to me. Always, when I come home after a flight day, totally exhausted,but happy, satisfied and thankful I could kiss whole the world, even my wife. Uncle Eric
Started training with Barry a week ago. Wow these guys are good, extremely good. Best week I had in a long long time (60 years old). Current students from the ages of 16 to 80, all have such a lot of fun and gain a lot of experience and flight time under there professional leadership. Thank you so much Barry, Grant and Marcus. Your enthusiasm is contagious indeed.
Truely an amazing experience! I was lucky enough to get a ride while there was snow on the Franschhoek mountains. The views was indescribable. Grant was also the best instructor and made the ride even more enjoyable (Thank you Grant!). If you haven't done it yet, I would advise you give Barry and his team a call and arrange for the time of your life. ️
The heart and genuine interest of Birdmen is all about getting you flying, and with a deeper knowledge of the areas than anyone I know. I would highly recommend Barry and Grant even as a seasoned flier visiting the Cape. In fact don’t visit the cape without your wing. There is no better way to see this part of the world than from the air at the sites they will take you to.
