I started Capoeira mid 2016 and usually I give most "hobbies" within the first few months but almost 4 years later I am proud to say I am still part of the beautiful CDO Capoeira community in Cape Town. Don't be intimated by the movements and training because I definitely was in the beginning, you'll soon catch on because everyone is super welcoming, friendly , patient and our teachers will walk with you in every step. It's physically intense but makes you feel so good after every session but it also mentally and emotionally builds you as a person over time. I can go on forever about the benefits but you have to just come and try it out! :)

I've been training Capoeira for almost two decades with various teachers in different countries in Europe, South Africa and South America. I lived in Cape Town from 2010-2017 regularly training with CDO Capoeira there and it was by far the best Capoeira I have experienced around the globe. Now that I'm back in Germany I still train with Mestre Espirrinho and Contramestra Mordaça online via video call. I'm so happy they offer that not only during lockdown times for their students in Cape Town but also long-term for those who are abroad. If you are lucky to be in Cape Town and consider practising Capoeira there, don't think twice!! You will definitely love it! The CDO group is is very diverse and full of kind-hearted people who will welcome you and make you part of the family. The energy during Capoeira class is very special, go there, feel it and you'll know what I mean.

Really helpful and uplifting environment. There is structure and everyone around you is supportive, so developing your skills while enjoying yourself is the end product. I'm glad I started my Capoeira experience there, as they give beginners time to grow without going too fast. Advanced pupils also learn a lot too. The instructors are more than capable and they offer a variety of movement based knowledge that can up your game in terms of fitness and skill. Would recommend them to anyone startingor getting back into Capoeira.
