I had a serious concern for my African Grey parrot who was self-mutilated her tail to the point of drawing blood. After going from bird vet to bird vet in hopes to help my bird who gave me numerous diagnosis; From a brain disease that would ultimately lead to the digestive system shutting down and resulting in death To a fungal infection that could potentially be cured with zambak To a simple diagnosis of her needing a bath After 2 years of trying to treat my bird I was recommended a visit to Dr Coetzee de Beer and it was the best thing I ever did. In a matter of 3 months my bird is doing wonderfully, she is happy, she is healthy and she has a beautiful tail. If you have any problems with (in my experience) a bird I can guarantee the helpful team at Centre for Avian, Reptiles and Exotics will find a way to fix/cure them. Highly highly recommend this practice

We always used to take our birds to Dr Nischk, until he passed away. I was very apprehensive about a new vet, but as far as avian vets go, they have no equal in my opinion. I especially appreciate the dietary advice we get for our birds, as well as the supplements to keep them in top shape

We rushed Fergus my bunny through to DR Coetzee after him having been at another animal hospital with no change in health for two days. We were immediately assisted and Fergus was taken in as a critical case. The doctor opened up Fergus's stomach and removed the obstruction. He physically is exceptionally knowledgeable, a passionate animal lover and takes such pride in everything he does. He is most definitely the only vet we will ever consult in the future. They have an emergency number that us available all hours, the doctor stays basically on premises, and if your baby is sick- works tirelessly to ensure everything that can be done, is done. I don't even think he knows how to be at rest if there is a sick patient. If we had not found out about this wonderful place, I would hate to think what would have happened to my bun.. Some might consider it a far drive, but, trust me- it's the best decision you will ever make for your pet! Rather take the time and know things will be done right. Thanks again to the amazing team at CARE, you really are lifesavers! Beautiful area, efficient and so very in tune!

I've had fantastic experiences from the receptionist, vet nurse and Dr C de Beer. They have answered all my (many) questions and dealt with me and my birds in a lovely manner. I find it extremely helpful that they also consult in sunset Beach and sea point so I don't have to drive all the way to Klapmuts. I've just taken out an Avian welfare plan with them as well.
