Road the steam train today. What a memorable day! It was so enjoyable, like taking a step back in time. The coffee and muffins were excellent and all of the staff were so friendly and helpful. The Elgin Market has lots of good food. The pizza is superb and the Butter-chicken curry was delicious. So many things to taste! If you are visiting Cape Town make plans to ride this train. You won’t be disappointed!

An amazing experience. Pricey but well worth the money; such a cool experience to ride in a steam train from yesteryear. Staff are so friendly and helpful and the three and a half hour trip in each direction really lets you enjoy the scenery and the ambience of the comfortable cabin. Well worth it!
Unfortunately it is not clearly signposted, but google maps will take you straight there. There is no shelter from rain or wind on the actual platform, but they do have a coffee shop across the road from the platform. Parking is an open gravel lot 10meters away, no undercover parking. Security guard on duty for the whole day.
What an amazing experience. Starting with the booking with Rika (who is fantastic). She answered all my constant questions and made the booking process simple and stress free. The train staff Stephan, Reggie and Melanie were very impressive, accommodating and made our train trip a pleasurable memory. Definitely will do it again.
Please will someone contact me or respond to me on email.. I have sent 4 emails since 13 November on a refund due to immigration and have had no feedback. VERY frustrating being blatantly ignored
Wow what a sight to see the old steamer in such great shape, they have people thats washing the old girl by hand, including all the carts during the week for its important run on Saturdays.
Wanted something different for my staff (80 people). Ceres Rail Company provided something really special. Staff and management went out of their way to look after all our people. Train experience was amazing. Thank you
