This medical aid claims to see you as something other than a number until it gets to a point where their clients actually need their help. My boyfriend, Kelvin van Baalen, was in a paragliding accident and spent 413 days in ICU - the list of complications is endless. Genesis made the decision that, after over a year in ICU, they would only be paying for 10 days of rehabilitation. 10 days is not even enough to scratch the surface of rehabilitation that Kelvin will need. If Genesis Medical Scheme will not pay for situations like these, how could they possibly consider themselves a good option for medical aid cover?

Beyond terrible. My son is meant to have his tonsil removed tomorrow (05 April 2019). It is 13:15PM on the 04 April 2019 and we have not received authorisation. I have been advised by a Genesis consultant that there is no turn around time. The request was sent through on the 01 April 2019. No sense of urgency or consideration from the consultants. I was a member of Discovery for 6 years, they are much more efficient and I am considering re-joining.
