This substation belongs to Tshwane municipality. It was built in 1995 when Olievenhoutbosch started becoming large, and has been enlarged since then. The foundations of the concrete slab are cast very deep, due to the proximity of the river and the presence of thixotropic turf-like soil in the area. The feed to the substation comes from the Rooihuiskraal(Brakfontein) substation, and distribution is to the R55 and Thatchfield substations as well as to some step-down transformers for the newer RDP houses on the east of the R55. This station rarely breaks down, unlike the R55 one, which breaks every few weeks. Don't try stealing cable here, you'll be lucky if you just get arrested.
