Our family rented Spoorweghuisie for an extended 6 month stay in Irene and had a great experience. We are a family of four with children ages 2 and 6 months and the house was perfect for us. The bedrooms are spacious and the decor of each room is tasteful and simple. The yard is open and gave our toddler ample room to run around, work on his gardening skills, and play in the backyard jungle gym and sandbox. Both the yard and the house are well maintained and incredibly neat and clean (thanks in large part to the kind and friendly gardener and housekeeper who take such good care of it)! The neighborhood is also quite nice and walkable. We'd often stroll down the road to a nearby field (the Oval) where the kids could run around or watch a game of cricket take place. The Irene Dairy farm is just a few minutes drive on the other side of the neighborhood (a favorite spot to take our children). The owners conveniently live just around the corner and were always responsive to our inquiries and questions (and we had quite a few being that we are not from South Africa)! Both prior to and during our stay, they graciously provided us with lots of information on the area - things to do, places to visit, activities to take the children to, etc. Overall, we were very pleased with our experience and stay at Spoorweghuisie.

Spoorweghuisie is a rare find: stylish and minimalist farmstyle interior, fully equipped for the self-caterer, outside play area for the kids, wonderful neighbourhood for long strolls. Highly recommended for any travelling family!
