Got lost looking for another restaurant today and ended up having lunch here. The hummus and tahini was not the stuff we find every day- first bite I was transported straight to Greece- absolutely heavenly! The grilled brinjals are to die for! I suspect that the atmosphere must be quite awesome when it gets busy. I will definitely be back

I've been following YiaYia's Kitchen for a while and they currently have 3 branches open. This one is a bit confusing as its the same premises as The View - Bedfordview Only after ordering off the Yia Yia's menu did we realise we can also order off The Views Menu which has a much bigger variety (if you dont want strictly greek type food). That seems to be more of a function venue on the left, nice reasonable sized space for parties. Friendly service, we ordered a Yia Yias Lemonade and Cappucino to start. The Lemonade was actually a bit on the sweet side for me. We then ordered a Lamb Gyro which comes with Potato wedges, and Kolokithokeftedes which is Baby Marrow and Feta fritters with Tzatziki and a single Chicken Souvlaki. My Lamb was nice but a few pieces were a bit chewy. My potato wedges were divine. The chicken was delicious as well as the fritters, but the Tzatziki was slightly thick. Keen to come back and try their prawns platter and maybe some dessert. #TheFoodMusketeer #TheFoodMusketeerEats #TFMYiaYiasKitchen #ProudlyEastRand

Tried Yiayia's for the first time today, their chicken Gyro Special takeaway. Buy one for R58-00 and get one for free. Good value for money

After a convoluted directional runaround by Google maps...we found this gem. Daniel Robbertse's choice. Irritated by the drive, half starving apart from a glass (or 2) of Sophie TeBlanche...we found ourselves at this restaurant virtually across the freeway from us. Took 12 km to get here according to irritating voice on Maps. 3 starter dips: taramasalata, humus, skodalia with authentic pita ...right amount of acid in the tarama, beautiful texture on the humus (beats Dan's) and a smooth, garlicky skodalia to make you cry. All for 45 rands accompanied by a bottle of Haute Cabriere...R120...that's R 15 more than I pay at Spa. In heaven...just ordered a calamari yiro for R 60 bucks ...Dan's lamb yiro...R 75. Have not eaten it yet but pretty sure that it will be scrumptious...gosh, so love it when we find great authentic food at beautiful prices. ...the yiro was fab

A very unique setting away from any other restaurants, although it's right next to a busy noisy highway it's almost like something extra added to its uniqueness and atmosphere. At first glance I thought it was a little pricey but once I got my food I could see and taste great value for money. Service was good and my waiter very pleasant. My first visit otherwise I would have probably given 5 stars. Will be back

Food was bad. Fish was dry and gyro meat undercooked. A little dissapointed and atmosphere was great.
