Unfortunately I cannot recommend this law firm. I first approached them in April 2019 where I signed a letter of engagement, at this point I was told they will help me. Needless to day after 3 months they billed me (Incorrectly I might add) Once I queried this billing It was covered up that they made a mistake and I was told that the firm could not help me in this matter after already taking R10000 plus. Shakira Ahmed who has recently moved to the litigation department was responsible for my case, I had to email her numerous times just to get a reply, not to mention all the grammar mistakes on my files, Total disregard to attention to detail (dates in demand letters were completely wrong as well as amounts and happenings even tho all this info had been summarized by me and was right in front of her she still couldn't get it right. After speaking to the Director Hennie today it was decided that they would no longer be able to assist me and explained to me that the costs would be to hard to recover etc. He was very straight forward and pleasant to deal with. Even after pointing out all Shakiras mistakes , he agreed to rectify the Demand letters, and mistakes however taking a clients money for 3 months and then telling them you cannot continue to help them after taking R10000 is not professional or business like at all. I would advise anyone not to deal with Shakira from this firm but rather to seek a more professional senior advocate who might pay more attention to detail . Also if your matter is serious it might be a better idea to get a more competent firm who dont make these rookie mistakes as they did on my file, will most likely have to have a whole new file created as this one is not an accurate representation of the events as not attention to details were made.
