Today, in an amazing by twist of fate, Save-A-Pet became Save-The-Pets. Save-A-Pet has always excelled at providing a home for the many homeless animals of PE. However, the scenario changed drastically today when a raging bush fire threatened to engulf this animal home. An urgent distress call went out to "Save-The-Pets". PE inhabitants speedily responded in their droves to successfully move all the dogs and cats to safety. Brett Steyn and I only managed to arrive in the later stages and were assigned to monitor the hot spots below their cages. Together with other tired firefighters we all ended up beating out a number of new flare-ups. Well done to Farm Com, Fire and Emergency Services volunteers and especially Pam for giving us two beaters. Everyone present was collaborating and fighting the fires, handing out water and generally showing tremendous teamwork between all groups present. PE is proud of you all!!!

Lovely place - they really care for the dogs they look after. They also have an animal behaviourist there to help with any issues after the adoption. They will ask you what you want from a dog, and they will introduce you to a number of them they think will be a good match for you. Seriously impressed with the place!

They do great work for abandoned pets. Do sponsor whatever you can, as the funds go towards a good cause.

Went to support them today, like I have for many years, only to get chased away due to vicious pets right at the entrance. I was told very unpolitely that my son will get bitten if I don't go away and wait in the car for my husband. The woman excourted us to the car and made sure we got in. And if the excuse is due to COVID-19 then why are "save a pet" staff members walking around my car and premises without masks. They clearly don't like children as they keep vicious dogs in the entrance, really so sad as my children would have loved to have taken a pet home.... Instead we where chased away. Terrible experience. Don't go there if you have kids.

There is a second hand shop where you can leave unwanted items and they can sell it to raise money. Please support them.
