We had a wonderful trip down memory lane thanks to our experienced guide. He had some interesting facts and a good knowledge of the aviation history of SA. Very well preserved piece of our heritage. Well worth a visit if you are ever in the Port Elizabeth area.

The South African Air Force Museum houses exhibits and restores material related to the history of the South African Air Force. The museum is divided into three locations, AFB Swartkop outside Pretoria, AFB Ysterplaat in Cape Town and at the Port Elizabeth airport.

Very educational, had a walkthrough with a friend of the museum, he was very knowledgeable and passionate. Museum has a great collection of old letters, official documents, photos, newspapers clippings, pilot note books, old flying instruction handbooks, and even historic pilot flying log books.
