Alas Graaff Reinet railway station is no longer served by trains, because the line from Port Elizabeth has closed. The old station has been abandoned and asset strippers are steadily removing building materials bit by bit. The old narrow gauge rail lines are still in place, but vegetation is gradually taking over. Next to the approach road to the station is an old British manufactured steam train, produced by Dub's & Co. Glasgow 1893, which may be inspected by the public.
