Elgin Grabouw Country club did a fantastic job hosting my dearest friend 21st birthday celebration. It was elegant and stylish just like she is. Thank you for this beautiful venue.

Wonderful place for outdoor activities, superb hospitality and so much more! If you are a big fan of Thor, you can even try to find a filmset location there.

Beautiful view with the dam full of water and green surrounding areas during December

Had previously only visited here for one of the resident rowing clubs. Recently hiked the blue route as time was a bit tight and got a good impression of the area. Nice scenery and routes, and seems like good fun on a MTB too. Unfortunately some larger sections are overgrown with alien vegetation. Again others are pristine and feel like they could be in a national reserve. As it was increasingly windy as I walked around the dam, not a lot of bird life to be seen, but a few different types of Sunbird could be heard. I imagine the veld would be teaming with bird and insect life on a good day. The odd lizard and mongoose also crossed our path. Nice dam, nice scenery. Worthwhile visit for a walk or a row. Probably also worthwhile for a 4x4 outing just for the scenery. There seemed to be some more challenging hilly bits, but I've only been here on foot. Be sure to bring cash for a permit (was R40 pp when I hiked here recently)

Absolutely brilliant offroad driving. Many roads to explore taking you as far as the oxwagon trails at the top of Sir Lowry's Pass. Grade can be anything from a 1-4 depending on how much rain and the route you take. Most have an escape route.
