Beautiful setting for off-the-grid campers. The sites are almost level and each one is private. Single toilet and shower are clean but in need of some maintenance. Fabulous walks; route markers are imprecise. Road to Highmoor is a single lane mountain pass. Be prepared to reverse a long distance for ascending traffic which has right-of-way.

One of the highest and most remote Campsites in the berg. Facilities are simple but clean and working. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great fishing (must book in advance though!) and hiking. Beautiful skies and sunrises.

Wonderful campsite, with spectacular views of the little Berg. Very small and quiet. There is limited shade at the sites, but that's to be expected in this part of the world. Great fly fishing in the numerous well stocked trout dams and excellent hiking. If you want solitude and a small quiet campsite in the Drakensberg you can't go wrong with Highmoor and its friendly staff.

Beautiful setting, although we stayed here when it was super misty and cloudy. Low rating as the hot water didn’t work and staff said they would fix it but never did.

Awesome place as it is in the Berg... Tranquil and neat, welcoming and helpful staff. I always wonder whether a place is accessible with a road caravan as info is hard to find. It is if you take it easy and are pulling with a 4x4 as the last 200 metres from the office to the campsite is a bit rough. From the reserve entrance to the office (maybe 2 km?) It is narrow so if you meet someone one of you might have to reverse for a while to be able to pass one another... One section is also quite steep, but straight.
