I stayed three days in Klaserie private nature reserve in September 2019. We spent 4 nights in the excellent nThambo Tree Camp, which is located in the heart of the reserve. The landscape of the reserve is mainly savannah, with some bushy areas and rivers where animals come to drink. In the park, during day safaris, we have seen: - 2 packs of critically endangered African wild dogs. I was very very happy to see them, as it was the second time (after Nyerere national park in Tanzania) that I could see these wonderful Africal wild dogs. Morever, we were very lucky, because we could see the den with many cute young puppies who were fed by parents and other members of the pack. A unique, fantastic and UNFORGETTABLE experience!!! - lions, leopards - spotted hyenas, black-backed jackals - white rhinos - elephants - herds of buffaloes -other mammals, e.g.: zebras, giraffes, buffalos, impalas, nyalas, kuddus, warthogs… - a den of dwarf mangooses with playful babies! - a lot of beautiful and colourful birds, owls. An extraordinary private reserve! The best area to spot critically endangeerd and wonderful African wild dogs in South Africa. I highly recommend to visit Klaserie private nature reserve

If you want to go to visit the Kruger, you definitely should go to Klaserie (which is a part of the Greater Kruger nature reserve). Here the African animals live in their own and are treated well and respectfully by guides, tourists and lodges. The wealth in fauna is amazing (compared to other zones) and you can see all kind of animals (not just the Big Five!) here: elephants, giraffes, rhinos, wildebeests, zebras, buffaloes, lions... And even leopards or wild African dogs! Very diverse!! It was like being inside of the Lion's King movie!

What's not to love about Klaserie Sands? Much different terrain than I experienced in the Balule game reserve in 2016, but also a much larger swath of land. Nature will delight you here for sure!

This review is long over due, we stayed there in December 2017. What a wonderful place; the drive in alone was amazing. Our guide was fantastic, the food was great, and the rooms are spectacular. Loved doing the walking trek and hanging out with the hyenas.

Really good camp. It's worth the high Price. We got a meal as we arrived before the first 3-4 hours Safari. The next morning another Safari and Bushwalk. We saw many different animals there. After Breakfast we leaved. Maybe one the is not enough there. It was just a little group with 6 persons.
