Went to department of justice Roodepoort today for child maintenance 31st Jan 2020. Security asked me where I was going I told him, he dismissed me from the gate saying Friday’s at that department they do not work. I asked him to show a notice board with that info. He seemed annoyed and told me to go to room 101 with no patient to direct me. I navigated my way to room 101. That room had three men. I greeted them, before I finished getting they asked me separately what do I want? Instead of phrasing the question friendlier like “how can we help you”?. Already at that moment I intimidated by this men, full in this small office. I told them the reason why I was there. They told me to go to Protea court, they can help me!.I walked out with a tail between my legs. I wish such cases like child maintenance can at list handled by people who are trained to deal with women who are raising kids on their own. When we decide to visit such places we are at the breaking point!. I wish we can have people who are compassionate, who are good listeners than quick talkers.The service was traumatic!
