Cold. Callous. Mercenary. Dismissive. Hoped time would make me feel better about it. On the contrary.. Took my little one there in good faith based on referral. He made it through a big operation much to my relief. Travelled to JHB every day for 4 days from Pretoria to visit him. They could not chase one out quick enough at visiting time even though you came from far. He was doing really well. Until neglect in the “ICU” on 3 rd night caused a major deterioration. They never bothered to even call and inform me of the situation. Discovered it to my horror when arriving to visit. I could see he was in big trouble and battling. I asked if I could see him later that day. Was not allowed to see him again!! That afternoon he died. I was heart broken... Upon collecting him the next day - No we are sorry about what happened or anything. More keen to get the almost R30 k bill posted than anything else. A horrible guilt ridden way to loose a much loved little soul that will stay with me for a long time to come.
