To say I received the best healthcare would be an understatement!! I was referred to the hospital by my doctor and I got to meet one of the best surgeons who made me feel at ease from the diagnosis until the day of my surgery... I was admitted at the Sapphire Ward and I received the best service, all the COVID-19 restrictions were put in place. I had to do a COVID-19 PCR Test before my admission and today it’s almost a week after my surgery and I don’t know what pain feels like!!! I’m truly grateful to all the staff, and I must say keep up the wonderful work!! ️ ️ ️️️

The best Netcare all round. A big thank you to all the staff: the security personnel, reception, nursing, support staff, radiology and the doctors for all your kindness and compassionate care.

Although some nursing staff are gems as people - as nursing staff absolutely appalling! Knowledge seems to be limited - which is scary as your care is in their hands (not talking about the actual doctors). Assistance after an operation is absolutely limited and takes a long if you get it. Lack of assistance caused unnecessary issues that had to be dealt with. Walked out of hospital with more damage than just the operation.

The Matron of the Ruby Ward (night shift) and her team is truley a bad reflection on the good track record of the hospital. My mother phoned me from reception at 22h40 because they refused to help her whim was in terrible pain. She asked them to phone the specialist which they also refused to do. After my mother phoned me I called Matron Lia in charge of the night shift, I asked what is going on my mother is in tears and pain why are they not helping her, she was rude and unhelpful and when I demande to speak to her superior she put the phone down in my ear. The situation was impossible as I stay 2 and a half hours drive away from the hospital. I contacted another specialist personally and asked for her assistance and only then did they make an effort to help my mother when she phoned them. They are suppose to look after her and instead they let a 64 year old lady with a bloodclot in her main artery get so worked up that she pack her stuff and walk out of the ward. I'm furious, they left her helpless and were covering up their mistakes you see they had forgotten to give her, her pain meds and after she repeatedly asked them to get something for the pain they just denied she ever asked, luckily there are witnesses to the ordeal. I hope the Management of the Ruby Ward investigates these individuals because this is literally playing with the lives of their patients.

Quite disturbing that a pensioner patron I know was forced to exit through a boomgate in a parking lot, without adequate sensors, tore her leg open, was permanently scarred and had no compensation offered. Was grateful that a very friendly doctor and ER staff helped efficiently. That adds one star. I hardly ever give a one star rating in my numerous reviews. This hospital though is quite unscrupulous, an embarrassment to the Netcare brand name.

The overall standards have improved significantly since my last visit 18 months ago. Everyone is polite, helpful, enquiring and seemingly wanting to make you feel better. This was from admissions to the ward nurses and sisters, cleaning staff to catering and porters. Some significant intervention has happened at the hospital. The test is to maintain these levels - will see on my next visit!
