One of the really nice lounges at Johannesburg Thambo airport, JNB, is the Mashonzha lounge located in terminal B. Whilst it only seats about 60 people, the seating is nice and varied anything from bar type seating to coaches and sofas. They have an excellent selection of both warm and cold food featuring both European, Asian and African food. There is also a good selection of soft drinks and coffee and tea. There is a great beer fridge and of course there is plenty of South African wine as well as a nice corner with premium spirits. They have a good collection of papers and magazines, and the WiFi is really good. For the smokers there is a smoking lounge as well. If you have Priority Pass then it is a great choice, however they do accept cash customers if they are not busy.

In my opinion, the worst lounge I have visited. But a lesson learnt, always ask to view before you enter. The gentleman at the front desk was LOVELY but the catering (which I was looking forward to as I hadn't eaten since supper the precious evening), was meagre. There was a slightly grubby feel to it and I had crisp crumbs stuck to my legs after sitting on a not so clean sofa. On the plus side, I had the whole lounge to myself so no screaming kids.

Very basic lounge. Tiny selection of food. Would have expected a bit more. On the positive side its on of the few places at the airport with a smoking section.

Nothing of note. A comfortable, but small lounge. Food selection was okay, as we're beverages. I felt like I was in a domestic US lounge, not an International lounge. The staff was there simply doing their job - no warm hospitality or going out of their way to make you feel welcome. All in all, it was better than waiting in the terminal, but not worth an entry fee if you have to pay to play.

First time visitor. Not bad nice and quiet. However the soup was tasty but cold. Staff need to be more interactive even though it was lunch time. Bathrooms need work. Dark with no soap or towels to dry hands

After I paid I found out that I couldn't access the Wi-Fi from my phone (Huawei). I first needed to download an app which would've supposedly given me access, but the free airport Wi-Fi was not strong enough to support this download. These kinds of things should be mentioned before the customer pays. When I saw the small variety of food and the empty fridge, I was very disappointed. At least they filled up the shelves with some more options after about half an hour. I liked the huge variety of drinks. I can also highlight Londiwe and her friendly and helpful service. She is the only reason this review made it to 2 stars.

Whilst small in size the service is lovely at this lounge. The folk managing it are friendly and polite. They really are focused on your stay being relaxing and quiet whilst you wait for your flight. The food was very nice (buffet) and they had a large range of unlimited drinks, spirits and soft drinks that were all included in the stay. The lounge chairs were very comfortable and I found the decor to be very appealing. Good stay.

This is a nicely furnished and silent lounge with something to eat at everyone's taste. Neat and clean, conveniently located within Terminal A. A visit is rewarding. Enjoy!
