This write-up is taken, with permission from Roger Nattrass from his book, "A Climber's Guide to KwaZulu-Natal Rock". Roger writes, "This is an isolated wall that is found on a small buttress located near the end of Buckingham Avenue". \u003cPlease note you can no longer reach it through an entrance on Buckingham Avenue but must either walk to it from the Windsor Road or Uve Road entrance: Kathryn\u003e. Roger continues, "Thus far there are only four routes opened at this crag but there is potential for more development. The wall gets morning shade followed by very direct (and very hot) afternoon sun - so get here early! Some unhappy climbers have been attacked by ants at the base of the wall. This happens occasionaly but only to those who smell tasty. Leave your peanut butter sandwiches at home". Roger has graded the routes shown in the photo of the routes, found in page 69 of his book Red Wine: 26 (7b). *** A tricky route on a great little wall. Bit loose in places down low bu the top makes up for it. First ascent: Jared Miller, 2009. Zoom Pipe 13 (4). *** Charge up the chimney. The first ascensionsit says it's a fun and worthwhile route. First ascent: Gerald Camp, 2009. Rain King (26 (7b) *** The line left of Ashen Lady. Good climbing on quality rock. Start as for Ashen Lady then move left at the third bolt. Fist ascent: Shaun Jones, 1994. Ashen Lady 28 (7c) ****. This line is the reason to venture to this remote crag. The route climbs the centre of the wave-shaped wall. A thin Bouldery start leads to an overhanging seam where you meet the crux - the final throw to the summit! First ascent: Roger Nattrass, 1991. (If you want a copy of his recently republished book, Southern Rock Climbing Gym in Pinetown has a few copies left)
