Unfortunately we saw none of the big 5! The reserve is extremely dry, it's very big and I think more watering holes should be built there.

What an amazing lodge! Would highly recommend it! Well looked after facilities, very friendly and helpful staff and you have the big five all around. The sound of crying jackals at night, lions roaring, and my favorite, the call of the fiery-necked nightjar. You won't be disappointed!

Kwalata is a stunning venue. Friendly and helpful staff. Reasonable prices. The unit was clean. The bathroom in the unit could do with a bit of modernisation, although it seemed reasonably clean. Bring your own coffee for the room as the packets contain Ricoffee. Some parts of the Dinokeng reserve require a 4x4. Much can be done in a normal vehicle though.

We had a memorable wedding for Rob and Nadine at Kwalata. Charles and his team went out of their way to make it a success. Jerry, Gwede, Elias, Phuti are some of the team that made us feel welcome, comfortable, well fed and supplied regular drinks.
