After an absolutely beautiful (yet very painful) hike from Greyton, it was such a pleasure to stay in the Onverwacht cabins. You can have perfect peace of mind if you want to stay here for the night. The service is excellent and PERSONAL. A memorable experience for sure. Grateful for the pool and the fireplace :)

We were 6 people hiring the Erica hut. The owner is very friendly and responsive, welling to help and cheerful. The equipment and facilities exceeded our expectations. Eventually spent a beautiful night there and found it hard to leave.

Perfect place for getaway. Expect just the basics with no television and bad cellphone reception. What more do you want? The is a communal cooling off pool. Great for sundowners. Each house has its own lapa fire place. Houses are not too close together so there is lots of privacy. Went there with friends. We were never bored and all felt we could have stayed at least a day longer. Will go again.

Beautiful, very affordable and super scenic! Perfect for bigger groups. No signal either, which makes it ideal for an escape.

This area is good for weekend break. Rustic accommodation but comfortable and clean.

Did the hike from Greyton to McGregor more often than I can remember. The hike is fairly strenuous and long but enjoyable because of the initial view when you start out and the waterfall/ refreshment point about halfway through the hike. The absolute highlight for everyone is always the overnight accommodation provided by the Oosthuizen family. We are used to very basic and rustic accommodation but here you have beds, blankets, kitchen utensils, microwave, stove, shower, etc. The huts provide a good rest before do the previous day's trail in reverse on your return to Greyton the next day. Always a great hike.
