This should be a must see for anyone travelling through the Camdeboo area. Helen Martin's legacy and arguably what put Nieu Bethesda on the map. Everyone will have their own take on the Owl House and that's as it should be. I felt a serenity and peace there. It has magic and spiritual quality. But see it you should.

Astonishing detailed art, far fetched from this world. Must see experience. Coupled with a trip to the fossil display and the river bed where they were escavated from.

The Owl House is an experience! You need to go there to see the insanity. You could be there for hours and miss things. A truly different experience. And the town of Nieu Bethesda is the cutest place!

Fascinating, a bit creepy, and definitely a worthwhile place to detour. I knew about all the sculptures but what really surprised me was how the entire house was covered in glass from floor to ceiling. Buy a combined ticket tour to also see the fossils in the river bed - you will not regret it!

Amazing history and experience in this unique artist's home. Nieu Bethesda is a gem of a town where you get a warm welcome.

Our visit to the Owl House was a lovely experience and it is definitely worth a visit. The house and sculptures are well maintained and cared for. In the museum you will find a well stocked shop, with beautiful scarves and other gifts. We approached the village from Graaf-Reinet's side and drove there on a lovely tar, except for the last 5km, road.
