Nelson Marine Services offers OPL services out of the Port Elizabeth harbour. Our services include Offshore Personnel Services (crew transfers, security personnel embarkation and disembarkation, surveyors), Vessel support (stores and provision deliveries, documant transfers, CTM) and Deep Sea Salvage (offshore charters). Our Vessel, "Big Blue", is an 11.9m LOA catamaran with a beam of 4m and a loading capacity of three tons over an area of 10m2, capable of carrying 9 x pallets/bags and she is registered for 12 pax. She is powered by 2 x 200hp inboard diesels for safety and reliability with a comfortable enclosed cabin which protects her passengers from the elements. Big Blue is equipped with modern navigation equipment, radar and AIS. A cruising speed of 18 knots and a working speed of 14 knots is what she is comfortable with. Big Blue has two SAPS approved rifle safes on board. Six rifles and numerous hand guns can be stowed in these safes making it possible to transport security staff and their equipment to OPL vessels.
