Fully equipped freestanding house on large garden with many trees, and much birdlife. A large deck to enjoy the tranquility and a cool beverage. Really enjoyed my stay there and the host Nikki was extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. it was also close to local amenities. Actually had informal business meetings out on the deck. Very refreshing! A cool sparkling pool was the cherry on the top! I would recommend this host and her establishment to everyone needing a casual country like setting, but yet close to town. Well done Nikki, you rock!!

For our purposes it was wonderful (3 ladies wanting to escape for a long weekend). The huge front deck over looks a South Coast jungle. With the deck, swimming pool, lounge and bedrooms there are plenty of places for you to spend time alone. These areas are also good for socialising. The sea is about a 10 minute drive so I wouldn't recommend it for a family beach holiday. We went to the beach for a walk and drove to Oribi Gorge (about 35km away) to admire the amazing scenery - probably one of the wonderful nature reserves in South Africa which is under visited

This was certainly a little peice of heaven! Serene & tranquil, with a delightful little pool to cool off after a day on the beach. A lovely decorated home, fully equipped with all you could ask for. I loved the beautiful deck where you can relax & feel totally at home. Excellent security was most IMPRESSIVE. Nikki is the most friendly, accomodating host! Thank you Nikki.

Walking into this home away from home, I was impressed by all the original features that have been lovingly restored. This home is neat, clean with all the necessary amenities on hand to make your stay comfortable. Better yet, once I stepped outside onto the large deck overlooking the lush, natural bush, I then understand why it is called a retreat. The deck is perfect for the birder; yogi or better yet work on your laptop on the deck. You will feel in holiday mode, not work mode as you get a glimpse of the Umzimkulu River and sea. Around the corner was a sparkling blue pool perfect for a quick dip in the summer heat. Ideal location 5 minutes off the N2 and a 5 minute drive from the beach. Spar and great restaurants close by. The beach is very family orientated with a children's tidal pool and separate larger tidal pool for the more confident swimmers. Ideal for businessmen; reps; contractors working on the South Coast or a stop before East Griqualand, the Transkei or Durban.
