What an experience. 1/ When asking a nurse to process my discharge she walked out on me while I was still talking to her, trying to explain that the doctor had already seen me and told me I could be discharged (it ended up taking 90 minutes to get the ward discharge.) 2/ Pain killers were forced on me even when I said it was not necessary (I'm under the impression that I have the right to not accept pain killers if they are not necessary.) 3/ My follow-up prescription was taken from me and routed through the hospital pharmacy without my knowledge (I thought that I had the right to use my own pharmacist, who probably would have used generics to lessen the cost to my medical aid.) On discharge from the ward I then also had to ask what had happened to my prescription and only then was I told that I can collect my medication on my way out of the hospital. 4/ Using the call button elicited no response. 5/ Perhaps I should mention the one meal that was left on the other side of the room and not actually given to me. If I hadn't bothered to get up and check I'd still be wondering who's meal it was. The only reason I've given one star is because: 1/ Two nurses actually introduced themselves (1 day shift, 1 night shift) - although I cannot name them because they mumbled their names, they did not speak out or clearly; and a very pleasant cleaning lady by the name of Sylvia, who introduced herself and explained exactly what she was going to do (kudos to her), which is more than what most of the nurses did. 2/The admin staff at admissions/discharges were extremely pleasant and professional. ...and no, Mediclinic administration, please don't bother to respond with platitudes - rather embark on a program of interpersonal relationship training for your nurses. I think corporate hospitals and their staff have forgotten that it's all about the patient, without whom the hospitals and staff would have no reason for existing.

I had a hystorectomy. I thank my lucky stars that i had the privilege to have had it done in mediclinic Potchefstroom. I was admitted in the maternity ward. Best experience of my life. Dr E Thomas was my dr, excellent dr. I would recommed him to anybody, the nursing staff were out of this world, always friendly and so helpfull even the cleaning staff, very friendly en helpfull. The hospital was spotless. It was truly a wonderfull experience.
My daughter was admitted to the pediatric ward from the 14-16th September! The staff were very warm and helpful! I was really impressed with their service!
Mrs A J Ehlers was to be transferred by ambulance from Mediclinic Potchefstroom to Fochville Hospital. She ended up at her home address. She is an eighty seven yrs old patient who broke her hip and is extremely frail, weighing approximately 40 kgs. She also has poor hearing and sight!! In organizing this transfer we made double sure that the staff of ward G knew EXACTLY where to send the patient!!!!! Mrs Ehlers then had to be moved by car from her residence to Fochville Hospital. She experienced pain and is traumatized by this experience!! The husband 88 yrs old Mr CB EHLERS is also highly upset about this incident!! Please avoid this Hospital if you can!!
I wont even give them a rating. Terrible. I have been trying to get an update from a patient for more than 5 hours as surgery was this morning. No feedback even given from the hospital after the surgery. Is it so hard just to contact a family member. How is it possible that a hospital's phone network is busy for so long without an alternative method of getting in touch with them. And they call themselves a private hospital. Worst hospital ever. Money takers And no service. 17 July today I will change my review thanks to personal contacting back to say they had a problem with network. Thank you for a speady response. And thank you for following up complaints logged to your website.
