I went to Dr van Niekerk in September 2020 and battled to get the results of the gastro-and colonoscopy. After 2 months of back and forth of consultation, phone calls etc I was send the results in Afrikaans! Till today, they have not translated results so I can read and understanding. He and his office showed no care for me and my health. I would never recommend him to anyone!

Even though the dr is very friendly, I have left his offices without any answers. I was told that there was nothing wrong with me, but got prescribed 4 kinds of medicine. If nothing is wrong with me, why am I receiving a script for 12 months? I have been left with more questions than answers. All I want to do is get rid of this extreme pain In my stomach and not to be on pain killers for the rest of my life. He also did a scope from both ends that barely took 5 minutes. I woke up alone and went looking for my husband. I explained all my symptoms and before doing any tests he already marked it down as IBS.

I hope this Dr knows about his rude receptionist towards clients. Worst experience I had on the phone! A bit of advice for you - don't treat clients like they should know what is going on behind your doors - we call for advice and guidance and most of all - for ease of mind, but you can't care less! Really pathetic!

Amazing Doctor, puts you at ease explained the procedure in detail as he is one of the few doctors in the medical field that actually cares about his patients wellbeing. The admin staff just as amazing and friendly. I was scared for my surgery but with Dr van Niekerk and his team I have no fear.

I have to relate an appalling experience I had with this Dr on 22nd May. I was referred for a colon resection and when I requested details on the operation I was told he did not have the time to explain it to me, and he did not refer me to any nurse for an explanation. I wish I had a recorder. Furthermore, I cancelled the procedure with him since he was leaving for a holiday one day after the operation, only to have the procedure authorised with the medical plan without my consent. Absolutely disgraceful. I finally had the procedure with another Dr, who put my fear at rest and was a success. Whether Dr van Niekerk was in a bad mood the day I paid for the consultation I would never know. This is not a professional approach to any patient.
