I was informed in December after my driver's license card was lost, that the licence centres are no longer doing walk in applications. Everything had to be booked online. After going online, I had three choices; springs, randfontein and Pretoria. With the sandton malboro and randburg centres for drivers licence card renewals been shut down, so I drove 70 km out to randfontein. If is a small centre- little parking inside- had to park outside. The online applications with set appointment times is new to the centre and they are still perfecting the system. But the staff were very friendly and I was in and out in an hour and a half compared to the 4 hours which I spent at randburg department in July.
