Loved it. One of the best hiking spots this side of the country. The owner is a nice gentleman who does the best introductions. There are beautiful waterfalls and rock pools. Beautiful fauna and flora around. Definitely worth a visit.

Hiking, the one form of exercise that is underrated. It's something that everyone should do at least once a month. And this place gives the space for that. The 12.5 KM trail doesn't only offer an opportunity to exercise but offers you spectacular views as well. Many beautiful rock formations, including the mushroom rock formation. Not mentioning the rivers, beautiful water giving life to this wonderful place. Truly worth visiting.

I did the green trail, the 13/14km. If you start at reception, right away you're going up a gentle incline. Then about 2kms in, the trail leads straight down into a river gorge without warning, which caught me by surprise. Be sure to keep a close eye on the markings, nearly got lost at that point. After navigating this area, you head up another gentle incline which leads to the first sightings of some of the rock pools. Don't be tempted to go dip in those ones, patience my friend, patience. Continue to about the 4 or 5km mark where you cross the river. After crossing the river, look to your right and make your way down following the flow of the river for about 200 metres. There you will find the most spectacular rock pool, with crystal clear waters. For me, that was the highlight of the hike. I couldn't contain my excitement and jumped in. Now you're done swimming and continuing with the hike. You better pray to your ancestors that it's overcast cause for the next 6 to 7 kilometres or so, you will have have little shade. If its a sunny day, may the good Lord be with you my child, you're going to be baked alive. At this point it's really mind-over-matter stuff, the tough really gets going on a sunny day. The trail gets very technical when you reach the 11km mark. Please be careful here, it's easy to sprain an ankle. At this point, the water is crystal clear again and it tempts you to jump in one more time. You can go in, you're almost at the finish. I would encourage that whoever attempts this trail be fit to a reasonable degree. Definitely not for beginners. It's one of those trails that will kill you whilst smiling at you. Hope you enjoyed the review. Please like if you enjoyed it and got some idea of what to expect. Cheers, and remember, One Life, Live It.

This is an incredible family outing and hiking trail opertunity. We realy enjoyed it and even the younger kids participated. The 5 km is great and our 8 year old and her friends managed it just fine. Afterwards you can have a picnic at the venue or even plan a braai.

Sunday! The day has finally arrived for a hike! Sunday Hike Day, as it were. There was a bit of a toss-up between the venues. The debate, naturally, was about the distance between here and there and value for soul. Yes, value for soul! Milorho Lodge and Hiking Trail was a spontaneous and delightful discovery while browsing over the geographical area on the Google Maps. Yes, it would be an almost two-hour drive from home, and, YES! If you were wondering, it was absolutely, hands-down, worth it! If you have ever found yourself feeling a little bit lost. A little bit overwhelmed. A little bit very stressed and unsettled, then, boys and girls I recommend this-here-trail for you! The hike is a dream! It is challenging! It has varying terrain and obstacles. You travel through gorges, discover rock pools with waterfalls, vivid veld and rock-parties (rock formations too-boot). The richness of the ever-landscape had me awestruck! The vibrancy of this piece of the mighty northern slopes of the Magaliesberg is a treat. Its flora and fauna is the stuff that dream interiors of a home are inspired and designed around. Words simply cannot do justice to the majesty, magnificence and magic that this trail has to offer. So! Go ahead, go on a little adventure, challenge yourself and discover YOU while you are at it in this gorgeous setting.

For a regular hiker I felt like it’s was a fair and easy trail. I got lost on the trail. I would recommend the markings to be painted as well instead of the small signs alone . Some signs where tempered with hence I lost my way the direction was not clear, however of you a water stream fanatic you would love the multiple streams

No need to book ahead. Two distance options, the 12km is not for the faint hearted or unfit! Stunning views, marked trail though at some points we got confused and had to retrace our steps. The water from the stream is clean and safe for drinking. Braai facilities, lawns and sitting area to recuperate after the hike. The bathrooms are clean
