The best in the game! Dave and Tiplo have become the go to guys for tattoos in JHB. Thato is the piercing guy but had recently join Dave and Tiplo under the gun! These guys know what they are doing. They take the time to make your tattoo more than just a picture on your skin, they make the process an artistic experience that combines your story and your vision with their precision to result in a piece that you will be proud to wear on your body for life! People who go to Black and White really become more than just clients, they become part of a family. I highly recommend.

As another person who posted a review said, they do not communicate well or respond to messages in a timely manner. Because they did not respond, I went to their Sportscene shop location because my teenage daughter wanted her ears pierced. No one was there, so I called the three numbers listed on a sign there and left messages. Thato responded and told me to go to their main location as it was open, so I took my daughter there only to find it closed. What a waste of my time! In the end, I took my daughter to another place that I had excellent reviews (Beyond Body Modification in Parkhurst). I was very pleased with their service and found it to be very well-managed and much cleaner than what I saw at Black and White's Tattoo location at Sportscene. Their location, in the back of a sporting good's store, left much to be desired and left me unimpressed (a simple curtain and a dirty counter). It all worked out in the end for my lone day in Joburg as we were visiting the city and flying the next day. I have never been prompted to post a Google Review, but I was really unimpressed with Black and White Studio and their lack of professionalism and poor communication. Go somewhere else. I'd recommend Beyond Body Modifcation for those interested in piercings.
