We relocated from Johannesburg to Sydney and employed the services of British International Removals. Included were around 20 expensive and rare ceramic and porcelain ornaments. These items were so badly paked in Johannesburg that on unpacking in Australia 8 ornaments were smashed! Furthermore management refused to take responsibility. Finally they said they would look into the incident but never responded again. I wouldn't recommend the services of this Company. Extremely poor customer service!

People who run and work for this company have no conscience, and I cannot understand how they run a business and get away over and over with treating their customers the way they do. Our belongings went missing during the packing process. There were minimum 6 people all over the house without supervision or following any logical system. BIR hid behind " if it didn't make it to the container, it can't be claimed for" and they completely ignored the fact that they may have been some discipline issues with their employees. The items that did reach destination, arrived damaged but we'll not be able to claim because we didn't claim within 7 days from fully delivery, which contravenes Consumer rights in SA. However, we identified two boxes as missing at the time of delivery, and it took two weeks to have the issue clarified. They refused to disclose who their company Insurance company is and never supplied us with a copy of the insurance policy, claiming that the contract we signed with them is the Insurance policy. They cannot even produce proof that the container was sealed before it left our house. The labeling of boxes was of poor quality and label descriptions didn't correspond to the content; numerous boxes were renumbered and some unnumbered. The discrepancy of number of boxes on the inventory against the submission made to customs , caused our container to be chosen for inspection, which we incurred additional costs for. They will send you on a wild goose chase, keep repeating irrelevant information in circles, make up a fake email address for a legal department that doesn't exist to try and intimidate you, and not give one thought to the amount of stress they cause.

Were it possible to rate lower than 1 star then I would. My goods were delayed by a month with poor communication and poor excuses that load shedding was to blame. We were then slapped with a massive fee at our destination customs - this was upsetting as we had specifically asked the "experts" if our timing and documentation was sufficient to which they said yes. My goods were packed haphazardly in the container resulting in damage to family antiques and my dining room table. Be warned that door to door does not mean what you think it does! I have spent the last 3 months begging for updates and information to which I am met with either no response or sarcastic snotty responses. To say that I am less than impressed merely scratches the surface. Thankfully this is all over and a repeat customer I will never be.

I made use of their service this year and there were three things that i was not happy about, hence the reason of removing three stars. First being the hidden costs they never tell you off and second being the Hollard Insurance they make use of. For the hidden costs, always have an extra 1500 moved aside because this will come in handy for them to deliver your goods to your home. For the Insurance, it was by far the worst insurance i have ever dealt with. I had quite a few stuff damaged and the Hollard service was so bad that the process got delayed by months and finally they ended up saying my excess was the same amount to what i had claimed for which was ridiculous. So my advise would be to make use of another insurance broker you can trust. Lastly, I had a few stuff missing when we received our stuff at our destination. This might have happened during the time of packing as i could not be there on the second day when the removers were packing. So my advise would be to always be present and have an eye out while the packing is taking place.

THE WORST experience!!! 5 MONTHS so far and WE STILL DO NOT HAVE OUR STUFF. Although we opted for a shared container, they told us that it will not take long to ship as they are extremely busy. It took them about 4 MONTHS to ship our stuff. Now we have to pay a LOT more due to currency exchange differences, but if they had not waited so long to ship our stuff we would not have to pay extra! They do not respond to emails or phone calls until maybe the 6th or 7th email/call. Upon receipt of goods in UK, it was an admin nightmare as we had to provide all information and forms etc AGAIN to the sub-agent they use and to the agent who took over the process. The agent they used in the UK have told us that although our goods have cleared customs, THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY AVAILABLE TRUCKS FOR DELIVERY!!! This is really the absolute WORST client service I have ever experienced. The new agent has also told us to not phone them anymore. What has happened to our stuff!!?? MAYBE we will receive our stuff in 6 or 7 months if we are lucky, but we have NO idea, and follow up weekly and they cannot give us a date! We will NEVER use them EVER AGAIN, and I really hope no one else does! This experience has overall been terribly shocking and they clearly don't care about customers.

Had to wait a year and a half for my furniture to be delivered, even though they said it shouldn't take more than 6 months. Many phone calls and frustrations later, they only sent my furniture after being threatened with legal action. Rather go for a more reliable company. My advice: Look elsewhere, save yourself the hassle. I had to re-purchase a lot of new furniture as I couldn't wait in limbo for my things to be delivered...

What a Yes Company this is. I asked for a quote to move to to the UK and they insisted that they send a rep to assess even after I confirmed the size of container I needed. They confirmed a meeting some 2 weeks later (27 December 2017). from Ben at 09h00. No pitch, or phone call to apologise or reschedule. Very disappointing. We arranged around this date and time.

Thank you British International removals. We received our belongings today in the UK from South Africa. Not one item was damaged. May Cape and her team, Coral in the UK. You have all been so professioal, friendly and helpful. Thank you. Sue and Dale Woodhead.
