Excellent optometrist, friendly staff. Kathy did extra eye exams that other optometrists have neglected to do. She is extremely professional and has a great personality. They also have a huge range of quality frames. Highly recommend!

I bought a pair of spectacles from Eyemax Sandton and left for Ghana. They broke and no optometrist could repair so I reached out to Eyemax who asked me to return it since it’s under warranty. I sent them via DHL and they were held by customs division of SARS and duties charged. All the evidence of tax invoices with SARS departure stamps from OR Tambo and the fact that these are broken glasses would not convince SARS to release the glasses for repairs. Eyemax reaches out today to say they did not think it was fair for me to pay anything to SARS so they’d make a new pair for me. This is awesome customer service. To Eyemax, I say keep up the good work. To SARS I say, SHAAME ON YOU.

Iria (one of the owners) saved me from a huge catastrophe I would literally have been blind without her, this review is overdue but I'm sharing as I need everyone to know what type of world class service Eyemax provided me!! I live in Los Angeles but went to Joburg to visit family members and ran out of contact lenses which is the worst thing because I only had heavy glasses (for emergencies) but wouldn't be able to wear them for the intensive hike I had planned the next day. Noone else wanted to help me at the Sandton Mall except Eyemax. The optometrist worked her magic and I was able to walk out with a temporary contact lens at no charge at all! Wow, I was seriously blown away by the level of customer service and genuine hospitality provided by Eyemax and very confused as to the 1 star reviews (which had deterred me from visiting at first). The receptionist was also very sweet and just the entire office had a very welcoming atmosphere. I was ripped off by another optometrist also in the same mall so I highly recommend you come straight to Eyemax to save your hard earned money and time, the other place treated me like a sign. They gave me the wrong prescription and lied to me it would work which is really messed up and I lost money anyway, luckily I found Eyemax who saved the day!! I have astigamistim in my prescription which is very difficult to find off any shelves ready to go in optometrists, you have to order it in and it takes a week. I was leaving to go abroad the next day and grateful Eyemax went above and beyond to help me even though they gained nothing out of it. 5 stars well deserved!!!

Terrible service. I waited 5 months for my original frame, now the owner makes it looks like his doing me a favour after no communication by giving me a cheaper frame, i was told by the shop assisstant afger calling numerous times that they sold my frame and i would have to wait another month! I will never buy here again.
