Peter was a great tour guide, he was a great tour guide to have for a day in Soweto. I would definitely recommend to anyone that would like a day tour in Johannesburg.

Peter gave us a personal private tour of the whole of Soweto. He gave us the opportunity to personalize the tour and took us to many places that were local and away from the main tourist attractions. After showing us the real current day life lived in Soweto he took us to see all the attractions in the area and did a full historical guide on the events of the Apartheid era. He has unbelievable knowledge on everything that happened in the area, and it is his generation that suffered and witnessed all the Apartheid brutalities. He opens your eyes and your mind to the reality of South Africa's past and current day society and gives you an opportunity to experience what it is like to be a resident of the biggest township in South Africa. At the end of the half-day tour he takes you to Vilakazi Street where first you visit the house of Nelson Mandela and then you can chose a place to eat and have lunch. I recommend asking him constantly on what he recommends to have a real Soweto experience. He will take you to one of the best local places to eat typical dishes from the Soweto region along with a Soweto beer. Please do this tour when you have lots of time. Changing the tour to suit your interests is so much fun and you see so many places that group tours cannot offer you. Do not rush. Soweto is fulled with hardship, pain, suffering but is also brimming with music, laughter and dancing in the streets. Take your time and you will allow Peter and Soweto to give you what may be the most enriching experience of your life.
Peter is a gentleman. His knowledge of Johannesburg and Soweto is excellent. We felt safe with him in his well maintained, clean and comfortable minibus. Peter was on time, friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!
Peter is undependable and has no respect for people's time! Although he knew that the other two people who would be joining the tour would be an hour late, he felt that it was not necessary to inform us. We were waiting outside five minutes before the called for time. The person he sent arrived 20 minutes late. Although I wrote to Peter twice it took him 20 minutes to answer. We then drove to the other people in the opposite direction and waited there. We asked to be returned to our hotel and cancel the trip and he declined. An hour later we set out. The tour itself was interesting. At the end of the tour the other people wanted to eat lunch. The tour guide told us they will grab something and meet us outside in 15 minutes. 25 minutes later he returned and said that in 5 minutes they will come just sorting out the bill. 15 minutes later my husband went to where they were sitting and they hadn't touch the bill yet. After 10 more minutes we were finally in the car after the bill was finally sorted out!! No respect for others time and no need to be honest. They also didn't have receipts! I guess this keeps in line with their method of work. Avoid them!
