Good for kids
Terrible experience. Advertising is totally misleading. A rip-off where you queue behind a mesh fence for hours without ever enjoying any items displayed on their website. A total scam. The pic shows the queue waiting to enter at 9pm and the event closes at 10pm. Event is not well planned & disappointingly repeats bad service every year. Not worth visiting at all.

I give one Star for the ice-cream guy because that was all I liked about the event. There should be a ZERO RATING. Very Poor indeed! We were at the front of the queue to see the lights and they let us through at 18h45 before the sun had even gone down so the lights were barely visible. The market was pitiful!
Total rip off. Extremely poor!! Total waste of money. Marshals and staff totally disorganised. Very disappointing experience.
Was Garden of Lights, Stellenbosch, Jan Marais Nature Reserve this evening. What a disappointment . It was completely unorganized. No disable parking. People jumping queues. The market area had no sufficient lighting and kids went missing, people fell. The lights show was an hour late and half the lights on shows power went out. It was sad esp for the kids. Never again.
Never EVER again. I wish I could give 0 stars. They sold way too many tickets, GREEDY organizers! Stood in 2h queue to get in and then a 1h queue to get to see the lights. Not to even mention the food queues! Absolutely pathetic.
This was a huge disappointment. We literally stayed for 40 wasted my time and petrol to experience absolutely nothing.
Zero Star rating - This was a total money-making scam. It looks like the organisers could easily have made a R1m over the three days. They should be brought to book for how they organised and ran this market. Thousands of people (including the group I was with) were left before enjoying any of the so-called festivities that were on offer. Our children and grand-children were very disappointed. We came from the Southern and Northern Suburbs to support this event. The Stellenbosch Municipality and Cape Nature Conservation and whichever other parties are involved in giving these organisers the authority to have this event should let us know who these people are so that we never support any event of theirs again.
I would advise people not to waste their money to go to this place. I just came from ther with my family. FAKE ADVERTISING. NONE OF THE PICTURES POSTED, WAS PRESENT THERE TO SEE. I WASTED MY MONEY AND TO THINK I BOUGHT 10 TICKETS!!!! WAITED HOURS IN A QUE ONLY TO SEE SOME TREE LIGHTS. NO FAKE SNOEW WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY SNOW,SNO PROPER ENTERTSINMENT. WA
