This was a beautiful Safari Lodge, with very comfortable rooms, stunning views and good food. It is very small, personal to every guest and comfortable to be in. It is also very relaxing to be in, peaceful and comfortable common and pool areas. The safari itself was not bad, but a bit disappointing in the number of animals I saw. Other lodges in other safaris had much more animals, and the game drives could become a bit boring with the lack of animals. The water safari on a small boat was interesting, but you could only see hippos and most of the time they would be underwater. Even though it makes for a new experience unlike any other lodge, it can be slow at times. Versus safari Lodge it is much better and it is very nice to get away from the city for a bit. It does unfortunately take a very long time to get from the gate to the actual hotel, and the rooms are also very far apart.

Breathe taking views These lodges have to most amazing views over the reserve. We stayed here after spending three days in the Safari Lodge and it was amazing how moving a small distance gave you such different view. We did both hikes and game drives. The walkes were tailored to abilities and desire. Our Guides Adriaan and Dan were extremely knowledgeable and experienced when we were out on drives or hiking in the bush. The staff at the lodge were wonderful. Tash the lodge manager made the experience seem less from getting back from and activity and going to the next. An amazing experience from start to finish that I can only recommend!
This was the best experience of my life. The hospitality of the staff from Nerine and Steph the hosts, Martin the chef (each dish appetizingly prepared), Shaun the waiter and Lukas who walked us to our rooms every night, was just phenomenal. They not only go the extra mile to make your stay exceptional but do this without a moment of hesitation. We also had the most amazing guide for our game drives, Storhm. His absolute unbelievable detailed knowledge of and love for the bush, birds, plants, trees, and animals is astonishing. He made the trip an out of the world experience. Thank you Marataba Mountain Lodge for the 4 days I could experience my Africa through someone else's eyes.
Recommended especially for "Honeymoon" couple! Kids are not allowed here so the couple won't disturb by the loud scream and noise. The place is very romantic. There are a fire place on the sand pool which you can hanging around at night. The room has stunning view. The only thing to worry is just it has to walk up quite a bit. But overall experience here is remarkable.

One of the most amazing lodges I've ever been to. The food was amazing, and the views from the rooms were spectacular. Lots of cool scenery and great animal sightings. Highly recommend!
At the end of the valley, this small lodge provides all you need. Modern facilites and good food. A very welcoming staff and great service.
