The wilds has been well restored and now offers a great Getaway within the city. Lovely lawns attract families and variety of walking routes (some with steepish inclines) within small area, on paths (rough rock cobbles).

Had a lovely group walk for senior citizens with Kennedy Welani Tembo. He does this walk weekly, every Tuesday@9.

Truly amazing place for hikers or runners. The trails are lovely, nature is beautiful there. If you'd like to escape from the busy city this place is perfect for that.

A little run down (none of the water features work and the green room was closed) but still a lovely spot

Surprised to find a botanical gem in the city, albeit somewhat neglected... With some love it could become a favourite for many! Looking forward to our next visit, hopefully the greenhouses/display areas will be restored by then.

This is a Brilliant place for a picnic or just unwind just outside the heart of the city

Loved it, beautiful scenery. Walking paths are kid friendly and the park is very clean. Would go again, highly recommend!

I had heard that The Wilds had been improved by a dedicated group of volunteers but i didn't expect such a rejuvenation! It is clean, has car guards (official ones), areas to relax, places for the children to play and great signage. The car park is quite small so you may have to wait to park if it is a sunny day. You can either stay on the Eastern side with the lawns and benches to look in the trees and bush for the metal animals, or you can go over the bridge to the Western side (signs suggest that you go in a group) and take a walk in the nature reserve as far as Munro Drive.
