As a life-long South African, poor quality and service is not something that startles me. But, occasionally one experiences something so unique that you have to share it. I used Ambassador in 2018 to supply sliding doors and windows for an extension to my house. All Meranti with factory fitted double-glazing, about R200k's worth. The list of issues I had is far too long to detail here, but the "highlights" include cracked glass, door handles at random different positions (9cm height variation between different doors, 2cm on same door - see picture), window handles that fall off (literally screwed in 2-3mm from the edge of the wood) and 8-9mm gaps between windows and frames at the hinges. And that was before the first winter storms arrived. Double glazing does not help much when the wind and rain blow straight through the gaps... During the entire process and all the comebacks I was told the the "owner" was furious with the people who made these doors, but he never had the decency to return any of my phone calls. He also apparently did not consider it worth while employing anybody to actually inspect his product before shipping it off to the customers. After about 5 visits from them to "repair" issues I gave up and repaired the rest myself. Lesson learnt. Avoid. If I could give them -5 stars I would.
