Alan James of Auto Munich took delivery of my BMW X5 in July 2018 to effect a very simple repair to the rear suspension - that was six months ago!!! In spite of having been paid for the work which they were contracted (and undertook) to perform, I've had no fewer than 23 promises (telephonic as well as written) from both Alan as well as his brother Garth that "the vehicle will be in the shop tomorrow/by Friday/next week" (sic), ABSOLUTELY NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE AND 6 MONTHS LATER, I AM STILL WITHOUT MY VEHICLE!!! And when I recently reported the matter to the SAPS (after pleading with him), Alan instead responded that he has "now decided not to return my vehicle and instead, sue me for slander" (sic) Fortunately, the Consumer Protection Act 2008 is a formidable tool (signed into Law to protect consumers against exactly this kind of dastardly, malicious, pernicious behaviour by unscrupulous service providers that amount to nothing less than blatant theft!) As a consequence, the matter will now be referred to the National Consumer Commission who have the authority to force Alan and Garth James to execute their duties in Law, and to award damages The Commission furthermore has the power to refer the matter also to the National Prosecuting Authority to pursue criminal charges against the two brothers Alan/Garth have been given 7 days to remedy the matter (repair my vehicle as contracted and which they've been paid for) and return my vehicle to me I will post a further update on Google as the matter evolves...
