This was a beautiful store for souvenir shopping. I enjoyed a nice conversation with the owner/manager. She was as interested in me as I was with her. She also insisted in bubble wrapping 2 (inexpensive) items for my trip home. A thin, hand-carved giraffe was perfect when I unwrapped it, Orange County, CA. This shop is in the Pearls Mall. Lovely!!!

It’s that store that you need just before going back home for a nice South African souvenirs. An excellent variety of gifts and souvenirs. Also a good packaging for each single item . The quality is super good and also the owner and stuff are very helpful and friendly helloing you to buy the right one.

Awesome Africa is an amazing shop with unique African ornaments etc located in Umhlanga. They also sell kiddy clothes and toys with an African theme. I am a regular shopper myself. Friendly owners.

It's a shame this is such a a hidden gem, and I'm so grateful for the folks at Gateway for sharing its location. The owners have a great selection of authentic goods and are eager to offer advice and take an online order if necessary. The prices were fair, too! I'm looking forward to visiting the next time! Incidentally, we got to.Awesome Africa AFTER visiting the uShaka shops (meh) and deciding we didn't want to waste.time haggling on the Durban beachfront. There was no hard sell, just helpful explanations, and they left us to explore the store without any pressure!

Visiting awesome Africa this morning to purchase fridge magnet etc. Had a lovely conversation with the couple who owned it talking about stutterford s store where my mum worked in the fifty s south Africa s harrods s and generally putting the world right .
