A refreshing nature reserve in the city, Very beautiful with lots of amazing trees , it was very fascinating to see the crabs in their environment, we walked for about 20 minutes on our little trail. Please do not litter whilst there or anywhere else for that matter!!!!! Important to note they are open once a month every 3rd Saturday of the month from 8am to 1pm. Enjoy good people I highly recommend a visit here.

So glad I finally made it to the right side of the Mangroves. The boardwalks are sturdy. The ecosystem is preserved. Lots of crabs. Beautiful trees. Walked through it to get to the beach for a cleanup. Can't believe you're in Durban city when you're in the Mangroves.

A nature trail in durban. Why travel out so far when we can wait for the 3rd Saturday of every month to visit this trail haven in the heart of durban. The tour guides were very friendly & informative. Nice place. To take the kids to learn about a piece of nature & take amazing pics.

Great place for birders. Naturalist and great walks educational and very informative for locals and tourists alike. Get there early for parking and first on the boardwalks..

I can't believe that in all the time I've lived in Durban, I haven't visited this gem before. We went there for a plant fair, and took a very pleasant stroll along the boardwalks, among the mangroves. Hundreds of bright orange-red crabs scuttle along the sands, shyly retreating to their holes if disturbed. The mangroves are fascinating, and next time I'd like to take a guided tour to learn more about this incredible ecosystem.

Every third weekend, great place to go with children and learn about a different ecosystem.
