If I could give it a zero I would. Management is nowhere to be found everything seems to be going backwards. The supervisor that is supposed to keep the people in order .. just useless

Mbizi is a nice place to come with the family, there are 4 pools, one of which has two slides for kids to use, the 2nd pool is a children's pool which is around ankle deep, the 3rd pool is slightly bigger then the first slide, the 4th pool is the bar pool, and it's water is slightly warmer. There is another pool which is an indoor warm pool. The foods are absolutely delicious. The place is quite lively and they always have activities for the children. And the animals are extremely tame. They have a shop for all your snacks, drinks, hats, ice creams, sweets, batteries, cigarettes etc. We stayed in the 6 bedroom chalet and we had a few underlying problems. The day we arrived at mbizi we had to shower in freezing cold water, and we had to complain before they fixed it but thankfully they came to fix it the next day after we complained about it. The wooden sliding doors were scrap, one had to pull, puch and pick up the doors to get doors open and closed, and only after we complained did they fix them, but even after the doors were still not the easiest to open. Our main glass sliding door that is used as the main entrance to the chalet, the hinge where the door clips to lock the door was half broken, and with the right amount of force once could break the door open. For 6k for a 6 sleeper chalet honestly wasn't worth it, for our 4 night stay 2 of the nights the heat was unbearable, and the fans that they provide are so weak that you can bearly feel the wind. They should consider AIR CONDITIONING FOR THOSE CHALETS, the STAY isn't cheap. Negative about our first day of arrival: The pools smelt like fish /sewage and only after we complained did they sort the water out. Our family friends son was swimming at the pool bar for a kiddies cocktail party and came out completely grossed out and disturbed, he found a used BLOODY TAMPON, yeah and yes he knowd what a tampon is. SOCIAL DISTANCING IS NON-EXISTANT at this lodge.

Mbizi Game Lodge —fantastic weekend away. After reading a few bad reviews on trip advisor, I’ll admit I was sceptic. HOWEVER my expectations were exceeded, this lodge is the perfect getaway weekend destination. Had a blast, Mbizi will definitely see me again

We tried to move our weekend to next weekend.... We phoned reception Monday... requesting the move... wednesday they phoned us and said Management said NO... if we move the weekend we lose our money.... So we got there on the Friday.... booked in.... We had a luxury stand.... They asked us to pay R200 extra for my 3 year old.... And then heard so by the way they have no power. They dont have card facilities.... We could not use tue luxury bathroom... there was no warm water.... Covid.... so we wanted our own ablution. Generator running the whole weekend.... loadshedding the campsites as the chalets take up too much power. Our poor camp fridge on and off the whole time....We could not use the warm water swimming pool.... We will never go back. Actualy Mbizi owes us money for the luxury stand we could not use!!!!! They also delete any bad comments on their facebook page instead of improving. We heard now that the power went off last week Monday already..... so they should have given us the choice to move the weekend on like we wanted to..... and they are not cheap! Trampolines and farmyard in a very bad shape..... I could not even buy my son a icecream or slush!!!!! No thank you!!!!

Friday we where told that they don't have any power but there is a time table for when the generator is running (we where also inform of how much money this cost every day, this is not the guests problem) Friday night we turn on the warm water with only cold water coming out of they geyser, Friday night was rainy and very cold. Saturday morning we phoned reception to find out why the generator was not warming our geyser, only to be told they can't accommodate every one, we must use the shared ablution if we want warm water (so the generator warms the shared ablution where you don't pay for a private bathroom, but when you pay extra no warm water?) . As it was cold Friday night and Saturday morning we wanted to go for a swim in the heated pool which they say is part of their facilities, but oh of course, as there was no power the heated swimming pool was also cold. They also have a note in the private bathrooms that say that during COVID time they are not servicing the private bathrooms, if they cared about COVID why aren't there any card facilities at the resort, everything you do must be paid in cash... When we raised our concerns Saturday when asked how we are enjoying our stay we where told "at least you are here" this after we asked if we can move our booking to March we where told yes only to be told the next day no we can't move our booking then we loose our money. Why didn't they then inform us about the power outage they already had for a week? Now we must hear how expensive the generator is, its simple they should've informed guest and moved them if they had a issue with there being no power since all the facilities could not be enjoyed. Oh also don't think of reviewing them on Facebook, comments get deleted and posts get ignored, only compliment posts get liked - Funny how after one bad review there are 2 positive reviews, one from a agent trying to sell one of the chalets and one from the owners daughter (LOL).

If you ever consider staying at MBIZI, I urge you to read this review!!!! I would give 4 stars but unfortunately the management and maintanance of the lodge is terrible. Let me elaborate on the good, bad & terrible. THE GOOD: The bar is absolutely awesome, the barmen and one maintamance guy is helpfull and sooo friendly. The mountain villa as well as the rest of the lodge is absolutely beautifull. The swimmingpool bar is one of it's kind! Bathrooms were clean. THE BAD: The reception lady is EXTREMELY RUDE! She made us feel unwelcome as soon as we set foot in the office. She did not even greet! THE UGLY: We had several problems during our stay with Mountain villa nr 9. To name a few: We could not shower or bath because the plumbing system had an ELECTRIC CURRENT running through! The cupboard underneath the basin was soaked with water and had swollen. Window was cracked upon arrival (We immediately called the reception lady to report this upon which her first reaction was by asking what we had broken?!). Two of the outdoor lights at the braai area did not work. We called several numbers after which one "emergency number" answered his phone and said to one of us "DINK JY EK STAAN ROND EN WAG VIR JOU OPROEP?!". This took seven calls to actually reach someone. This is absolutely absurd- HOW DO YOU TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS LIKE THIS??? The power went out a several times too, one time when we had called reception, her reaction was for us 6 girls to "walk down to the main camp for lights" in a very sarcastic tone. PS This is 2 or 3 km away from main camp. I am not the only person to speak out about the bad management- please go and read the other reviews. I will never recommend for anyone to stay at Mbizi unless you are willing to deal with ill mannered, unwilling, sarcastic management!!! PLEASE consider this review (and other) and please consider the overall rating of this place before making your booking.

Mbizi will not see us again. The toilets were not cleaned, there was no soap or toiletpaper several times and the dustbins were not emptied. . The family room was dirty as well with no hot water! For the price one pays, you expect a little bit more!
