Good value for your money as far as medi aid / hospital plans concerned. The only downer is that they don't cover most prescribe medications. Very good for day to day use though Dr's etc.

Dr Daisy van der Merwe: After many, many mails still, after months, the following: 1) I tried to obtain your banking details in order to unblock you from my FNB debit orders. But in vain. You are still blocked. 2) I told you my debit orders are paid 2nd of each month. Now you mailed me re 15 December 2020! Unfortunately your debit order won't be paid on that day.

Their only goal is to get new members and do not look after existing members They misinform on their website about maternity benefits, to gain more clients, but existing clients for years suddenly also have to wait a whole year to get the benefits. Their website and policies of 2020 declare all the most wonderful benefits for maternity, but in actual fact, their benefits are 2021 benefits for all members (even if you have paid your premiums since 2017). And if you have a 2020 baby, you get none of the very nice benefits they promise in the 2020 policy. I can give proof of 8 places on their website where the maternity benefits are elaborately displayed with no indication of exceptions but still they will not pay a cent toward the birth or hospital stay in 2020. So even though I have been paying my membership for almost 4 years now, they will not pay any of those nice 2020 benefits in December 2020. If I joined 1 Jan 2020 I would get the 2021 benefit, but now bringing an already 4-year paying customer, they only say sorry only in 2021- why is it then advertised in 2020? I would not recommend this medical insurance to anyone, their only goal is to get new members and not to please the members they already have.

I am pregnant and when I ask about maternity benefit they told me to pay for my consultations and also when I go and give birth but I am an old member and I am only giving birth in April 2021 which means I am not getting 2021 benefits even if I am an old client.

None of the medicine I've been prescribed have been covered by get savvi. I dont give my card anymore when I'm at the pharmacy. My membership has been suspended today because apparently my account is due. My premium gets paid by debit after the 25th!! So this weekend my family is not covered. (Not that it mattered much, as I have to pay cash most of the time anyway) They send me an email saying that it will (of course) take two working days to get back to me. The only thing I'm covered for as advertised is the doctor's visits. That is only the basics. And I have the highest coverage available. I have been wanting to change providers for a while now but was putting it off. Will definitely now after this sh! show. Very dissapointed, but not at all shocked.

So far so good. I needed an ambulance about a month after signing up for GetSavvi. The ambulance came to about R2500 and GetSavvi covered that cost completely. Three months after signing up (once the waiting period finished), I needed to see a GP. I saw one on their network (she's great!) and their receptionist there handled my claim. I pretty much gave my GetSavvi account number to the GP receptionist, saw the doctor, and left, no spending on my part. Be sure you understand exactly what you're covered for before signing up though!
