Phew !, missed the cancelled run by 1 week (their first cancelled run in 3 years! - impressive indeed). On the day it was still quite muddy (Feb’19) but clear skies made it a pleasure. A scenic run, most of it alongside the Vanryn Dam, inside Ebotse estate. A number of very friendly marshalls along the course kept encouraging runners, and controlling the needed gap required with returning runners and with muddy patches. It’s a ‘there and back’ run, but never boring. Certainly worth it. It starts and ends in the CR Swart park. Ablutions available at the start area. No dogs allowed. Well worth going for breakfast afterwards at the Ebotse Golf & Country Estate top deck restaurant (run by Doppio Zero) with great views over the dam or the coffee shop down stairs. Call the restaurant for an access code which is available at the gate.

The area is lovely with ample parking. Some of the volunteers can be a little too confrontational, but lots of friendly faces as long as you listen to the rules. Most of the run is in the Ebotse estate, so they do need to be quite strict. The course has a nice variety of straights and hills.

Good, challenging run. Tar, grass and dirt course, with a long uphill near the end. The volunteers are really great and help a lot. Sprained my ankle with a mis-step in January and got helped immediately.
