Really great place if you just want to have a peaceful weekend to unwind from the stresses of work - it’s a spot where you can set up your tent and chair, put a hook in the water and do nothing but chill! 5 dams in total, well stocked with all the usual fish for catch and release.

Very nice camp site. Would be perfect if it had some recent rain. The big dam was completely dry and grass stood high. Other dams were extremely low. Some small bass, but very muddy conditions. Pity. On the other hand, the walking trails is lovely, tranquil and many. Very quiet place and cabbins is fairly privately situated. Clean and simple. Steps a bit steap, so elder people WILL struggle. Power points and lights everywhere. Security guards patrolling at night. Not for the faint hearted, but actually well kept. Good communication from the host and actively involved. Splash pool at communial outside area. Ablutions have very hot water. Many showers and a bath. Not wheelchair friendly. Dogs loved it!
Hi, Went there the easter weekend. Lovely places but so run down and dirty. If they would only clean the beautiful little chalets they would be perfect. Had 6 knives, 2 forks, no opener, no braai tongs a dirty bread board and I can carry on. Luckily on slept there went out during the day. Won't recommend.
Don't book here. The pictures look much better than reality. We arrived, took a walk and left straight after that. I believe they know why people don't stay for the amount of days that they booked but they don't care because they won't refund you. So they lie to the next lot, taking their money with false promises. There is no water in the dam. No water in the splash pool. The cottage that we stayed in smelled. Very run down. Would not recommend. You only get 1 star because I am unable to give you -1
Nestled in the magalies valley. Serene surroundings and beautiful scenery. Friendly owner and staff. Nice location for fly fishing.
Derelict condition.... overall 1. Leaking and Running toilets. 2. Jetties and wooden bridges dangerous. 3. Signage needs attention. 4. Not value for money.
Avoid this place at all cost!! It should not even be called a fishing lodge.
What a let down. The pics on the web and the reality are far between. its called a fishing lodge but its not really, it used to be but dam 1 is dry and dams 2 to 4 are not even big enough to cast a line. The wife and I arrived walked around and within 30 minutes decided to leave. We didn't want a scene so made up a story about an issue at home that needed tending to and snuck off to the Vaal river for some real fishing DONT BOOK HERE not worthy of any stars but cant post comments without stars.
