The intention behind the publication is to provide and accurate record of transactions undertaken by all JSE-listed companies; M&A and those transactions which include financial restructuring, listings, share issues and repurchases and capital reductions. The scope of the publication has widened over the years to include local unlisted transactions and deal making in Africa. DealMakers has, over time, built up strong relationships with the advisory firms in an endeavour to provide a detailed account of the M&A landscape which has ensured that the information is both accurate and can be substantiated. The achievements of the M&A industry are celebrated at The DealMakers Annual Awards Banquet which is held in February each year and recognises the work done in the previous year. The gathering, which is attended by 500 paying guests, is considered the highlight of the industry’s calendar.
