I did the Boesmanskloof hike for the first time in mid October 2020.We started in Greyton. The trail is clearly marked and the scenery very beautiful although the mountains burned sometime March everything is starting to come alive again, lots of greenery and the waterfalls spectacular.I will definitely recommend this hike and will surely do it again.

Beautiful views, easy hike with a little bit of climbing.

Really lovely accommodation - neat and tidy, with no fuss. There is electricity for cooking, with a microwave and a few other things. Braai area outside is also cozy. Beautiful views of sunrise and sunset, and very quiet if you book the upper huts. Would definitely go again.

Best trip ever , Beautiful scenery... This beauty stole my drone, but I got it back.

Most beautiful place... Suggest you use a 4x4 to get to the accommodation. Accommodation basic, but has everything you need

Personally I would give this 1 star, but it's not the trail's fault I was woefully underprepared. The Greyton - Mcgregor hike is bloody hard. I thought if I take it slowly it would be fine but under the hot summer sun, I died (figuratively). It's so beautiful but I could not really enjoy it as much as I would have liked because all I wanted was to be at the top in a cool cabin with a G&T. We left super early the next day to get back and miss the main heat of day; that made it a lot more bearable.

This is one of those hiking trails that you absolutely have to do. It's only two days long. The views can be breathtaking - depending on the time of year and rainfall. There is drinking water along the way in the form of natural streams and the river that you walk parallel to. The walk boasts a great range of fauna and flora. Bring a large enough water bottle so that you have enough to drink between streams. It can get fairly hot which induces the need to drink more water. Pack your swimming costume. There are amazing rock pools to swim in. There are a number of options for accommodation in Macgregor on the Oosthuizen's farm or Whipstock farm if you are walking from Greyton. You also have the option of walking from Macgregor to Greyton and back but I recommend starting in Greyton. That way the walk back is downhill overall. The distance is around 18Km - depending on where you overnight.
